Burrangiri Aged Care Respite Centre is an ACT Health site operated by The Salvation Army Aged Care, specialising in providing respite (short-term) care for older Australians. Overnight respite is available, allowing carers to take a break or attend to other tasks, while the person being cared for can enjoy a change of scene in a supportive, friendly and inclusive atmosphere. Carers and nurses are available 24/7 for personal care and nursing support. There is also a Day Centre, offering a variety of lifestyle activities, designed to bring some fun and support each person's individual health and wellbeing. The Day Centre is open Monday-Friday 9am-3pm.Specialising in restorative experiences for older Australians, Burrangiri offers a place to stay as a short-term break or a longer-term stay, with a variety of programs to support when needed most. Clients can join for just a few hours or stay overnight for up to 3 weeks. The Burrangiri team will dedicate the time to get to know you and your health needs to ensure flexible, holistic and personalised careAll meals are prepared onsite and provided throughout the day, catering to dietary and cultural requirements. There is also an array of amenities, including a sunroom, library and hairdressing salon. For longer stays, all rooms are fully furnished and have been designed with comfort and security in mind, with convenient and easy access to all parts of the Centre.There are beautiful gardens lovingly maintained by the Centre's Maintenance team and clients with expert green thumbs in the gardening club. Burrangiri is convenient to get to via public transport. Cooleman Court Shopping Centre and Canberra Central are short drives away, and local shops are across the road should anyone need some supplies during their stay.An ACAT assessment is not necessary to access care services at Burrangiri. However, if you require an ACAT assessment, Burrangiri and The Salvation Army Aged Care's customer service team can assist with arranging this onsite and are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Adria Care is known as one of Canberra’s best aged care facilities and it is located in the south side suburb of Stirling. Established in 1994, the Village has accommodated many elderly people from Canberra and the surrounding districts that require permanent care, supported dementia care and respite accommodation. The Village is a 24 hour facility that operates to a very high standard of care. The organisation is committed to ensuring a focus on quality of life and supporting our residents feel safe and comfortable. Adria Care provides accommodation for 40 permanent residents and another two rooms for respite care. Twelve permanent places are located in the special care unit. All rooms are single and private and have their own ensuite bathroom facilities. The Village has very high cleaning standards and provides laundry services on-site for our residents. Meals are cooked fresh daily on-site and Adria provides a variety of breakfasts, lunches and dinners, as well as morning and afternoon tea. As part of our care practice we accommodate residents’ dietary needs as well as including them in meal choice and menu planning. The Stirling village also has 36 established independent living units. Our philosophy is to provide the highest quality of care to the aged care person of any nationality, providing them assistance to live with dignity & as independently as possible.Residents are invited to take part in a variety of activities on a cultural, social and religious basis within the Village atmosphere. Residents are able to enjoy going on excursions around Canberra to places such as the zoo, art gallery, lookouts, museums and on shopping trips. Many also enjoy the in-house activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, birthday celebrations, mobile library, playing board games and doing puzzles.Adria has a Registered Nurse on duty at all times who is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of health care professionals including general practitioners, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, podiatrists, dieticians and others as assessed as required. An in-house hairdresser and barber provide services such as cuts, colours and styles. The Village has a chapel where residents of any religion have the right to worship.
