Retirement Villages

Retire in style with Australia’s best villages

What are retirement villages?

Retirement villages are housing developments designed for people over 55, offering a range of accommodation options, services and facilities.

The size and levels of accommodation vary, from self-contained independent living units, villas or apartments, to serviced apartments with some daily living assistance.

Living options range from one to four bedrooms within a low, high or medium rise complex, terrace housing, stand alone or semi detached dwellings.

An introduction to retirement villages

Retirement is a new stage of life, and some even say ‘life begins at retirement’. You may be looking forward to putting your feet up or pottering around the garden, or want to fill your time with volunteering or social group activities.

Finding purpose in your retirement

The first few months of retirement can be bliss and may seem like a holiday. You have no work or obligations getting you out of bed in the morning, and you suddenly have a free schedule.

Not just a new home, a new lifestyle

CONSUMER STORY – When Kevin and Pamela Dring made a sea-change over 20 years ago, they didn’t realise they would eventually be city-bound again. But after realising they were too far away from family and feeling like they needed a little bit extra protection, the couple decided to move into a retirement village in Sydney’s North.

Preparing yourself for retirement

Retirement is the long-awaited dream for many Australians. While there is no fixed retirement age in Australia, some people choose to retire in their fifties while others work to pension age and beyond.

Transitioning into your retirement life

You might not realise you need to plan for retirement. Many people don’t. But it is really important to take some time and think about what you would like that time to look like before you actually transition into retirement.
