Goodwin Village Monash
About
Named Australia's Best Retirement Village in 2015, Goodwin Village Monash incorporates a retirement village of single storey villas with beautifully established gardens around a central lake, plus two residential care facilities: David Harper House and Ralph Cartwright Centre.
The independent living villas are affordable and vary from one to three-bedrooms, each with a small garden and/or courtyard and single garage. A top quality, exclusive residents' clubhouse forms the social heart of the village with regular events, games rooms, cinema, chapel room, licensed cafe/bar and a large, comfortable lounge area with fireplace and piano.
The care facilities bring quality, innovation and peace of mind to families and residents on Canberra's south side. Goodwin is committed to creating a home that residents are proud of, complementing outstanding amenities with high quality care and advanced technology systems. Our care communities are about life, lived with quality and dignity.
Choose clinical expertise
David Harper House is one of only a small number of live-in care facilities in the ACT that provides 24-hour on-site, on-staff nurses, seven days a week. We also offer a range of quality clinical care services such as one-to-one nurse clinics led by a geriatrician working closely with our own Aged Care Specialist Nurse Practitioner.
Our approach is person-centred care, meaning we treat you as a whole person, including mental and emotional wellbeing, not just a “diagnosis”.
At Goodwin, quality of life is our mantra.
Choose comfort and lifestyle
David Harper House, together with an adjoining lively retirement village, won Australia’s Best Retirement Living Development 2015 at the Property Council of Australia’s Innovation and Excellence Awards, and Best Development 2015 at the Property Council’s annual ACT awards.
Balconies overlooking the private lake give you waterfront views and outdoor dining. Residents also enjoy high quality lounge and dining areas on each floor, plus sunny, secluded sitting spaces, shaded outdoor areas and secure gardens including BBQ area with a bird aviary, and the feature "pond" with its pontoon and resident wildlife.
Residents also enjoy an on-site hairdresser, religious services and pastoral care, internet kiosk, and a dedicated activities team who organise daily stimulation including wellness classes, light exercise, games, craft groups and outings.
Ralph Cartwright Centre offers a cottage-style alternative with specialist dementia care, with sun-filled rooms surrounding secure garden spaces where residents can enjoy their own gardening.
Choose fresh home-style meals
We understand that food is another important enjoyment in life. Our quality, home style food is cooked fresh on-site daily and includes five or more courses a day with rotating seasonal menus designed by our head chef and dietician.
Choose the better life
A significant number of beds across Goodwin facilities are reserved for people with low means.
Goodwin is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation operating since the 1950s.
