Living at Warrina
Warrina Aged Care is a purpose-built facility situated in spacious gardens in the historic township of New Gisborne, which is situated at the foot of the Macedon Ranges in historic wine and horse breeding country. Whilst situated in regional Victoria, New Gisborne is only a half hours drive from the Melbourne CBD. Located near Gisborne train station, Warrina Aged Care is well served by public transport and is around five minutes’ drive from Gisborne’s shops, supermarkets, restaurants and local amenities. Currently our accommodation includes permanent and respite care in single rooms with ensuite bathrooms for all of our residents, couple’s rooms are also available on request.
Quality Service
Services include an extensive physiotherapy program, speech pathology, podiatry, optometry, wound consultancy, dental and dietetics. We have a dedicated team of loyal and experienced staff and offer quality, holistic care by forming true partnerships with our residents and their families. We aim to be flexible and responsive to our residents’ changing needs and go out of our way to be as helpful as possible to ensure optimum quality of life.
Lifestyle
Warrina Aged Care’s lifestyle program caters to all our residents by offering activities that are both enjoyable & stimulating and planned in a way that meets individual needs and preferences. We believe that an active and fulfilling social life is vitally important to the health and wellbeing of our residents. To ensure our residents are happy and active our Lifestyle Coordinator maintains a full schedule of activities appropriate for residents of varying energy levels and cognitive abilities. These include table and floor games, arts and craft sessions, sing a longs and bingo. Our residents particularly enjoy the pets when they visit as part of our Pets for Therapy program. Our regular bus excursions are a favourite with residents visiting interesting venues & events around the area. A range of dining, living and activity areas are available for residents to relax and unwind including a library, two large sitting rooms and a dedicated activities room. Freshly prepared meals are cooked by our in-house Chef. We are close to all of the amenities you need – local shops, transport, local parks and medical facilities, we are located next door to a medical clinic.

Home Away From Home
Because it’s your home, we encourage you to personalise your space and bring in items and favourite mementos that mean so much and express your style and life. Our dedicated care team are committed to delivering personalised care and provide on-site support to residents and their families at all times. We provide furniture including built in wardrobes, a bedside locker including lockable drawers and a comfortable lounge style chair. The common areas are fully air-conditioned. Whether you prefer a little more privacy or enjoy the company of others, our single and companion rooms let you make yourself at home.
Detailed Information
All of our rooms are singles and have ensuite bathrooms, room sizes are 12m² (excluding bathrooms). Warrina has two large lounge rooms, a library/tea room, an activities room and two dining rooms. We have a gazebo and BBQ area in our large courtyard garden and a mini golf green. Warrina has is located on 2½ acres of grounds with extensive native planted gardens.
Personal Care
Our nursing staff participates in continuing professional development to ensure their practice is up to date and relevant to our resident’s needs. We aim to provide holistic, state of the art nursing care to all of our residents. Warrina Aged Care offers a range of services which are included as part of our service to you:

Admission
To secure a place on our waiting list we ask all prospective residents to provide a copy of their most recent ACAS assessment and an income and asset report from the Department of Human Services.
Fees and Funding
Moving into an aged care home may require one off payments or deposits, as well as ongoing fees for your care, accommodation and daily living expenses. We welcome all prospective residents at Warrina Aged Care no matter the financial situation. How much you pay depends on your financial situation. However, there are strong protections in place to make sure that care is affordable for everyone. The Government sets the maximum fees for care and daily living expenses, and there are also rules about how much you can be asked to pay for your accommodation. You may wish to discuss with our staff the options available, we also encourage prospective residents to seek advice from an aged care specialist independent financial advisor.
