What is important to you?
When a new resident arrives, we ask, “What is important to you?”
This one question tells us so much about you and helps our staff know what ‘makes you tick’. This is your new home and we will do all we can to help you settle in and feel at home here.
This facility is set in leafy Brighton in the beautiful Kamesburgh Gardens, with views to mature trees on every side – including a magnificent Moreton Bay Fig.
Our residents share many traditional Australian values – sincerity, humour, mate-ship, perseverance, generosity, courage and a larrikin spirit – values bred through a lifetime of living and working in this great country. In return, our staff show respect, support and compassion.
Vasey RSL Care Brighton has received multiple awards in recognition of the care, compassion, respect and innovation we demonstrate in the care of our residents. We are here to help you maintain your health, happiness and well-being.
About Vasey RSL Care
Vasey RSL Care is a not-for-profit organisation with five residential aged care homes. Our organisation is large enough to have economies of scale (such as centralised administration), but small enough to retain a personal touch and stay close to everyone in our community.
Our organisation was founded to support veterans from World War I and war widows from World War II. These beginnings have influenced every aspect of our organisation and continue to do so. Around two thirds of our residents have a background with the Australian Defence Forces or are the widows of ex-service personnel (sometimes both).
The other third of our residents are from the general public.

Every Vasey RSL Care Home is Unique
Vasey RSL Care Brighton has all the things you’d expect in your home – good home-made food, regular cleaning, laundry service, health services and plenty to keep you busy with an extensive lifestyle program.
But that’s not what makes it unique – it’s the people: residents, staff and volunteers – and our links to the wider community – the local RSL and schools in the area, such as Star of the Sea College, St Kevin’s, De La Salle and St James Primary School.
And as well as having activities and visitors, we get out and about using our own bus, visiting local sights such as Brighton Beach at sunset and the local shopping centres, and further afield, with visits to the snow, the Great Ocean Road and the Mornington Peninsula as typical examples of outings.
In all we do, we aim for excellence in aged care, with a person-centred approach that respect and supports the wishes of the individual.
