Suncare Community Services (Suncare) is a not for profit community services organisation with operations across South East and regional, rural and remote centres in Queensland. The organisation provides services to enable people to maintain independence and remain connected to their communities. Their service scope encompasses respite, community care and allied health and nursing. These areas of practise are then carried out across the aged, mental health and disability sectors.
From humble beginnings in 1970, Suncare has grown from a small community service provider to the dynamic multi-centre organisation of today. Everything Suncare does is guided by their vision to be strong leaders and innovators in community support and person-centred care.
If you are living in Queensland and you are a carer or a person who is frail aged and living independently or perhaps you are someone living with a disability or mental illness, you can access services from Suncare wherever your address - be it metropolitan, regional or rural - you can call on Suncare for respite, care and support.
Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC)
STRC is a new program that has been designed to help you improve your overall personal wellbeing and help you remain independent. Building on the success of the Transitional Care Program, which assists people to return home after a hospital stay, STRC is available without having been admitted to hospital. STRC is a flexible, goal orientated care program, designed for, and with, the individual, conducted in the comfort of their own home. Run in consultation with their GP over and 8 week period, it is another alternative to an enhanced care program from the GP.
