Laurieton is a small town just south of Port Macquarie and nestled at the foot of North Brother Mountain. Our home is set in a peaceful spot, surrounded by mature trees and established gardens.
Our home offers 60 private rooms with ensuite bathrooms and patios or garden views, a secure dementia care wing and a beautiful central courtyard with outdoor dining, seating and a bowling green.
Storm Retirement Village consists of 55 high level places (Milton Fowell Court) and 62 low level places (Storm Lodge), including a secure dementia specific unit. The facility also has provision for respite care for residents.
Enjoying a long history in the Taree area, the facility is well known in the local community for the quality of care it provides.
Storm Retirement Village is fully certified and accredited with the Department of Social Services & the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency.
The facility employs approximately 100 staff including the facility manager, registered nurses, enrolled nurses, care assistants, lifestyle & wellbeing, hotel services staff, clerical & maintenance staff. Additionally, Anglican Care employs a Lifestyle & Wellbeing Coordinator who works across all of our residential aged care facilities. Unique to each of Anglican Care’s residential aged care facilities is the role of the Resident Liaison Officer. The objective of this role is to ensure that the individual and social wellbeing needs of our residents are met according to Anglican Care’s mission, vision and values. The Resident Liaison Officers also act as a liaison for residents and relatives with due regard to the Charter of Residents Rights and Responsibilities.
The quality of care provided at Storm Retirement Village is enhanced by the provision of a stimulating lifestyle and wellbeing program. Anglican Care also has an active community of volunteers, with many volunteers providing additional services and new friendships to the residents of Storm Retirement Village.
Located within the Taree Anglican Community, the facility is approximately 15 minutes from both Manning Rural Referral Hospital and Mayo Private Hospital and enjoys close ties with the local GPs, schools and other community groups.
