Anglican Care is an innovative and progressive provider of aged care services in the Hunter and Central Coast regions in NSW. The organisation offers a wide choice of care services options to meet individual needs, improve lifestyle, encourage independence, maintain socialisation within our community and assure peace of mind.
Anglican Care has been operating in excess of 50 years and is the aged care ministry of the Anglican Diocese of Newcastle. A not-for-profit organisation, any surplus funds are used to enhance the excellent care and quality lifestyle offered to our residents and clients.
Services provided include Retirement Living, Day Therapy, Residential Care, Community Care, Dementia Specific Care, Extra Services and Respite Care.
Scenic Lodge Merewether is Anglican Care’s newest residential aged care facility. Opening in October 2010, this landmark facility offers 55 low care, extra service, residential aged care places.
Situated in the cosmopolitan beachside suburb of Merewether in Newcastle, residents enjoy views overlooking the beautiful Glenrock Recreation Area and the Pacific Ocean and enjoy access to fully landscaped gardens and walking paths. The facility is also in close proximity to the many art galleries, parks, museums, theatres and shopping centres in the area.
The facility is architecturally designed and built to ensure the highest level of comfort and service. The single rooms are spacious and luxurious, with most rooms opening out onto either a courtyard or balcony area. Each room features an ensuite bathroom, heating and cooling systems.
Situated throughout the facility are an assortment of stylish sitting rooms, lounge and activity areas for residents and their family members and friends to enjoy.
The quality of care provided at Scenic Lodge Merewether is enhanced by the provision of a stimulating lifestyle and wellbeing program that will promote quality of life, enjoyment and positive ageing based on the personal interests of each resident.
Activities include outings to local cultural and community events, trips to local galleries and shopping centres, music and pet therapy, church and pastoral carer visits, happy hours, card games, gardening, exercise programs, movies and live entertainment.
Residents enjoy delicious cuisine prepared daily by our own chef using fresh local produce. Daily menus incorporate the provision of main meals, including the choice of a hot breakfast on a daily basis, together with morning and afternoon teas.
For those added indulgences, pre-dinner drinks are offered prior to evening meals including a selection of wine, beer, juices and soft drinks. Meals can be enjoyed in a variety of settings such as dining rooms, shaded outdoor areas, balconies or room service. It is also possible to arrange meals for guests, if residents are enjoying company.
