NewDirection Care - Introducing the world’s first residential aged care Microtown Community.
Winner of Innovation of the Year - Care Model 2018, Facility of the Year 2017 and Best Silver Architecture 2016, NewDirection Care is an inclusive community that doesn't segregate people by physical or cognitive diagnosis. Instead, residents with a range of care needs including dementia share a 7-bedroom home together based on similar values and lifestyle preferences.Perfectly located between Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, NewDirection Care is a $35 million Microtown "where the freedom of home follows you". NewDirection Care has 17 individually styled home located on six streets over 2 hectares, is home to 120 residents and is open to everyone with an ACAT Assessment, including those supported by the Government. Why we are different? We encourage our residents to enjoy a good life by offering an entirely different kind of residential and nursing care. NewDirection Care is a place where residents can enjoy fulfilling and happy lives beyond diagnosis; socialising, staying active, pursuing hobbies and continuing to play an active role in the community. Instead of building large non-descript institutional buildings filled with dozens of patients we have created a Microtown of 17 domestic-style homes that each house seven residents who live together. Did you know we have double and queen beds? And, yes couples live here together.
Enjoy your own town squareNewDirection Care looks exactly like any other Australian suburban community. Pets are welcome which currently includes some chooks, dogs and a bird.We focus on the individualAt NewDirection Care we understand that at this stage in life it’s often the little things that matter.
