Wedding bells in the air

Weddings can be few and far between in retirement so Glengowrie Retirement Village residents decided to put on one of their own!

The bridal party and guests were all residents playing their part in the wedding celebration.

The bride, Donna McDonald and her husband to be, Willy Wonka exchanged handmade embroidered curtain rings after saying their vows.

Donna looked lovely in her café curtain lace gown over her white cotton ‘Bonds’ singlet. She was assisted by two bridesmaids who were fitted in matching gowns of hand dyed pink scrim net over their pink ‘Bonds’ singlets.

One hundred guests attended the wedding and brought a wedding gift of a non perishable item, beautifully wrapped ready to be donated to a charity.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail party where finger food was served and a three piece band played throughout the reception.

Glengowrie Retirement Village is situated on 4.2 hectares of beautifully landscaped gardens in the popular seaside suburb of Glengowrie, 11km south-west of Adelaide.

Residents at the village make the most of the extensive community facilities at the village including a hairdressing salon, library, restaurant and even a dancefloor!
