Foster carers program for loved pets

Elderly Victorians worried about the ongoing care of their cherished pets can be assisted by a scheme run by the Victorian RSPCA called the Bequest Animal Program.
The program enables pet owners to make provision in their will for the life-long care of their animal with the cost of registration dependent on the type of animal and the investment being used to cover the cost of veterinary treatment for the rest of the pet’s life.
The foster carers are responsible for providing a home for the animal and attending to daily needs such as feeding, exercising, and grooming, and payment of local council registration fees.
