Community care provider, Care Connect, recently announced the appointment of Paul Martin as national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) project officer this month. Mr Martin’s appointment provides Care Connect with the specialist knowledge and networks to support its leadership position for the LGBTI community.
Community care provider, Care Connect, recently announced the appointment of Paul Martin as national Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) project officer this month.
Mr Martin’s appointment provides Care Connect with the specialist knowledge and networks to support its leadership position on providing best practice community care for the LGBTI community.
The role will see the consolidation of a national LGBTI strategy designed to:
• advocate on behalf of the LGBTI community
• build the awareness and capacity of service providers in the sector
• deliver culturally appropriate supports and services to the LGBTI community.
Mr Martin brings with him a wealth of expertise and experience gained through 20 years of work and volunteering with LGBTI and HIV communities.
As well as his role as executive officer of healthy communities, Mr Martin a founding member and board member of the National LGBTI Health Alliance.
Paul Ostrowski, Care Connect chief executive, said: “Mr Martin’s credibility, knowledge and networks will help drive greater engagement with LGBTI communities across the country including providing insight and support into policy at a national level.
“His role will help inform our position as Leading Aged Care Queensland’s representative on the national LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Strategy committee,” Mr Ostrowski said.
