New reporting resources for aged care workers

The Aged Care Complaints Scheme has developed some new resources to help residential aged care staff and workers know what they are required to do when they are the first to suspect, or become aware, that a resident has been assaulted, or is absent without explanation.

For aged care staff there is a new staff folder tab and reportable assaults response poster to assist in meeting compulsory reporting requirements.

The new staff folder tab and poster feature a handy Reportable Assaults Flowchart to help staff determine when they must make a report, and when they may use their discretion not to make a report.

The insert is designed to be easily filed for staff to access when needed. The poster can be displayed in staff areas for easy reference.

The new resources are in addition to the Compulsory Reporting Guidelines.

To read, download or print the staff folder tab, poster and Compulsory Reporting Guidelines, visit the Scheme’s compulsory reporting resources page.
