Victorian aged care provider, Lyndoch Living, has announced the appointment of its new chief executive, Doreen Power.

Ms Power comes to Lyndoch Living with a wealth of experience in the health sector. She is a proven chief executive having held executive management and clinical roles across a range of complex health services including acute, aged care and community health, as well as being a passionate quality surveyor.

“It’s a great honour to be able to lead an organisation like Lyndoch Living. Being a local leader in the care for the ageing and those with complex care needs for more than 60 years, is no small feat,” Ms Power says.

She insists that what initially attracted her to the position were the values of the organisation, particularly the developing 'yes culture'.

“When I saw that Lyndoch Living had adopted a 'yes cuture' as one of their core values, it intrigued me. I found it exciting. A 'yes culture' breaks down barriers and enables organisations to be responsive and nimble.”

Ms Power's extensive list of experience and qualifications, which include qualifications in business leadership, health administration and advanced nursing, will place her well to lead the not for profit, its 400 plus staff and army of 200 volunteers to continue to set the benchmark for care delivery to in excess of 600 individuals daily.

“The aged and community care industry is in the midst of huge reform and growth; Lyndoch Living will continue to be a trusted source of knowledge and reassurance to South West Victorians. That we can do this is a testament to our staff and volunteers. I look forward to working with them all in the coming years to keep up the great work done so far”.
