Key points:

  • Luxurious, refined and sublime — the first images from TriCare’s new premium facility looked like a holiday in heaven
  • The new facility is located in Williams Landing, southwest of Melbourne
  • TriCare has been an aged care and retirement living provider for over 54 years

TriCare’s new state-of-the-art facility opened its doors on September 7, already marking a momentous and marvellous milestone for the suburb of Williams Landing. Wyndham City Council Mayor Susan McIntyre officially opened the facility with councillors and local community members.

“If you’re going to go into aged care, you may as well come here,” said 77-year-old resident

Margaret Hodgkinson’s husband, Peter.

“I looked after Margaret at home until I couldn’t possibly cope anymore. She’s happy here and some of our friends have even said: ‘well, if I’d booked my holidays here, I wouldn’t be disappointed’,” he added.

TriCare Williams Landing was designed using person-centred principles, which the team believes are key to happiness and well-being.

TriCare Director Peter O’Shea said the facility was intended to redesign the aged care experience and keep residents front-of-mind throughout the whole process.

“Williams Landing represents a special moment for TriCare. We’re pleased to introduce this up-market aged care model that has been so successful in Queensland, to Victoria,” Mr O’Shea added.

Located at 16 Charsworth Way, the 126-bed facility is in an enviable location, surrounded by nature reserves, close to shops, a train station and just 30 minutes from the Melbourne CBD.

Within the pristine walls of TriCare Williams Landing, residents will discover expansive accommodations that cater to the needs of both singles and couples, along with an array of engaging lifestyle activities. Residents can also expect a dedicated chef to prepare nutritious, tasty meals and cater to their tastebuds — above all else, there will be comprehensive, genuine 24/7 clinical and social care.

TriCare Williams Landing shatters the fuddy-duddy stigma often associated with ‘aged care’ through classy 35 square-metre rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, a kitchenette and undisrupted views of the Melbourne City skyline.

“We also offer residents some wonderful amenities that allow residents to have fun and connect,” said TriCare Williams Landing Facility Manager, Nithin Shetty.

“These include an on-site wine bar and a movie theatre, where residents enjoy new releases, classics, and everything in between.

“When it’s time to be seen at your best, the hairdressing salon will have your beauty and grooming needs covered,” he added.
