The volunteers participated in fun filled activities with elderly residents, including teaching them how to use an iPad, taking them for walks and having a BBQ lunch together.

Mobil Yarraville Terminal manager, Michael Singh, says the Day of Caring initative is one of many worthwhile programs they support each year to help the local Yarraville community.

The program, which is in its twelfth year, involves about 230 ExxonMobil Australia employees assisting 18 community organisations in areas where the company has its main facilities, including Gippsland, Melbourne, Altona, Yarraville, Western Port and Perth.

Doutta Galla chairman, Bruce Mildenhall, says the team were thrilled to be hosting the Exxon Mobil corporate volunteers, describing the partnership as another example of the community initiatives being undertaken to help enhance the lives our elderly residents.

The independent, not for profit organisation, Doutta Galla Aged Services, has more than 20 years of experience caring for people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
