New appointment to Leading Aged Services Australia board

The announcement of Dr Panter’s and Mr Loudon’s election was announced at the LASA National Congress on the Gold Coast this week, among more than 1,100 delegates from across Australia.

Inducted into the LASA Board through an official ballot held as part of the congress, Dr Panter says he is thrilled to have the opportunity to represent the interests of LASA members from South Australia as the SA/NT Representative Director.

“I am truly humbled to have been given this wonderful opportunity,” he says.

“I am committed to ensuring South Australian aged care providers and industry representatives have a strong and influential voice on the national stage.

“Aged care is a rapidly growing industry in South Australia and we need to ensure that as a collective we’re working towards long-term sustainability and most importantly quality of care.”

LASA SA/NT State Manager Rosetta Rosa says Dr Panter will continue to make a valuable contribution to the organisation in his new role, given his extensive experience and passion for keeping people in their own home as they age.

“David’s appointment is very significant in the sense that he is a person who will as the hard questions, which will ensure that as a peak body representing the sector, LASA will continue to make an important impact in the areas of policy advocacy and service delivery,” she explains.

Following the appointment to Representative Director, Dr Panter will step down from his former role as Chair of the LASA SA/NT Member Advisory Committee, a role he has filled since September.

Mr Loudon also held a role within LASA as a Board Director of LASA Queensland from 2013-2016.

Mr Loudon has a vision for aged care focuses on quality of life and respect for the choices of elders, and how it can be delivered in any location.
