August announced as time for change for one Australian aged care provider

Chris Hall has been named the successor of retiring Juniper Chief Executive Vaughan Harding, with Juniper Board Chair Fred Boshart both welcoming Mr Hall’s appointment, and paying tribute to Mr Harding’s years of service.

Mr Boshart says Mr Hall is “well placed” to take on the role given his wide-ranging experience and governance and leadership acumen accrued over 35 years in aged care, local government, health, community services, mental health, and disability sectors.

“Since joining Juniper in 1989, Mr Harding oversaw decades of change,” Mr Boshart says.

“More change and a higher pace of change seem inevitable, as ageing ‘Baby Boomers’ change the population profile, funding levels are reduced, red tape and regulatory burdens increase and an increase in ‘user pays’ creates a more competitive marketplace.

“Following an extensive national search, Juniper has appointed a highly qualified, capable and dynamic individual to lead our organisation and deliver on our commitment to play our part in meeting burgeoning community demand for quality care and support services.

“Mr Hall is a strong supporter of the not-for-profit sector and is an acknowledged advocate and force for social justice and change to benefit the whole community.”

Currently the Chief Executive Officer of MercyCare, and responsible for the organisation’s broad range of services across 35 locations in WA, and the organisations growth in aged care, family, community, health and disability services, Mr Hall says he is looking forward to taking the position within Juniper.

“I’m delighted to be joining Juniper at both an exciting and challenging time for the aged care sector and to build on the outstanding contribution that Juniper has made to the Western Australian community for almost 70 years,” he says.

Mr Hall will commence his position at Juniper on 13 August 2018 and will work with the organisation to realise its strategy to double its capacity to meet demand for services.
