WA support scheme for incontinence sufferers
Incontinence sufferers in Western Australia are set to benefit from a new management and support service costing $18 million over four years introduced in March by the State Government.
Executive director of Health Policy and Clinical Reform, Dr Simon Towler, said the scheme would provide community-based management and advice to thousands of Western Australians.
“A professional continence advisor will clinically assess each client and develop an individual plan around that person’s needs. Seniors or adults who are health care or pension card holders and currently ineligible under other schemes will receive expert care, support and education on how best to manage their symptoms.
Clients who are eligible may also receive a product subsidy of up to $470 a year and prescribed products will be delivered to their homes”, Dr.Towler said.
