People not saving enough for retirement
Research by a leading human resources firm, Talent2, has found that while nearly 60% of Australian workers say they plan on retiring from the workforce, more than one in three Australians have done nothing more than contribute the mandatory amount to their superannuation.
The survey of 1,741 respondents found that this lack of preparedness for exiting the workforce, and the rising cost of living, have led to workers realising that they cannot retire at 55 anymore.
Over a quarter of respondents have pushed back their retirement plans until they are between 61 and 65 years old.
