The extensive redevelopment has transformed the community centre into a modern, multi-functional, wellbeing space for residents to enjoy.

The community centre at Geelong Grove Retirement Village is home to arts and crafts activities, exercises including Tai Chi and Yoga and social events such as Bingo, Happy Hour and theme nights.

Australian Unity Retirement Living Chief Operating Officer Cameron Holland says the community centre has been a vibrant hub of activity at the heart of village life since it first opened 29 years ago.

“Geelong Grove has and will continue to welcome a range of resident committees and activities. The redeveloped community centre will provide a comfortable, modern backdrop to such activities that bring like-minded people together well into the future,” Mr Holland says.

The centre now boasts a contemporary kitchen, revamped hairdressing salon, recreational areas, a library and reading spaces with Wi-Fi connection as well as an open plan living and dining area that opens out to a full size bowling green.

“We hope the improvements we made to create a contemporary, multi-purpose community centre provide ongoing benefits to our residents’ wellbeing. It is something we can all be proud of,” according to Mr Holland.
