There is also the added peace of mind of friendly nurses and carers at any time and an emergency call bell system in all rooms. Beautiful landscaped gardens throughout the Centre and plenty of outdoor common areas provide the perfect places for you to do some activities, spend time with family and friends or relax and enjoy some solitude. All meals are prepared onsite using fresh produce by an experienced catering team. Each menu is developed in regular discussion with a dietitian and the older people receiving care at the Centre.

Cooinda has been an important community asset for Lithgow since 1968. The home has seen various additions and upgrades over the past 50 years and the recent addition of a brand new 36 bed wing signals the exciting next stage of development for Cooinda.Overview
Cooinda opened its doors in 1968 as a 25 bed hostel called Cooinda Aged People’s Homes. Nearby Tanderra was officially opened in March 1991 and the 40 bed facility was soon at capacity. Eight beds were added in 2001 bringing the total to 48 care beds.
Cooinda underwent a major re-fit in 2004 adding ensuites to all rooms and two new wings of 12 beds each. In 2019 building began on Stage 1 of the new development with the new lodge to accommodate 36 new ensuite rooms with state of the art facilities.

Team Structure
Our team consists of clinical staff and specialists, including registered nurses and personal care assistants available on-call, 24-hours a day. A leisure and lifestyle officer arranges activities and therapy. Team members are passionate, caring and friendly and go above and beyond to build a genuine rapport with residents and their family members.

The Buckland Convalescent Hospital was established in 1934 and has become one of the most highly regarded servides in the Blue Mountains region of New South Wales.
The Buckland Aged Care Service is a state-of-the-art 144 bed facility located on the main Springwood site.
This facility has single rooms each with its own ensuite, individual air conditioning & wall mounted flat screen television as standard.
Also on the site are recreational areas, a central kitchen, a fully established laundry and extensive roof gardens. Many of the residential aged care facility bedrooms have a bush outlook or a view into an internal courtyard.
The bedrooms are grouped into units of eight, 12 or 16 and each group of bedrooms have access to their own dining/sitting areas.
