Divided into 5 wings. Most rooms have full ensuite, whilst other units have personal toilets and hand basins with a private shower facility in the unit.
Team Structure
Our team consists of clinical staff and specialists including registered nurses, endorsed enrolled nurses and personal care assistants available on-call, 24-hours a day. A social care team deals with activities and therapy. Team members are passionate, caring and friendly and go above and beyond to build a genuine rapport with residents and their families.

With attention to the complete health and wellbeing of our residents, the services we offer combine specialist care with quality of life. Beyond our standard care offerings, further services accommodate specific needs of residents such as providing a sewing space for residents who love to sew, or an an art space for a resident artist.
Dedicated specialist services such as physiotherapists, podiatrists, speech pathologists and dietitians are included in the accommodation costs. Optometrists and hearing specialists make frequent visits.
A fully functioning hairdressing salon is available on-site for residents’ use. Appointments can be made directly with the hairdressers.
Food & Diet
Our chefs ensure that healthy and balanced meal choices are always available and prepared on-site, 7 days a week. Meals can also be tailored to fit any dietary requirements. The menu is rotated seasonally and fresh food arrives throughout the week.Activities & Excursions
Various activities are held daily in the Village Hall, auditorium and lounge rooms, including: art therapy, indoor bowls, memory/word games, pampering, gentle exercises, Tai Chi, card games and bingo. The cafe is held every Wednesday afternoon, there is a weekly shopping trolley and happy hours. Leisure and lifestyle staff arrange outings for meals and events. A workshop group is hosted every week in a fully equipped workshop and there are vegetable gardens for residents with a green thumb.
Donwood Community Aged Care Services Inc. is a "not-for-profit community based organisation" providing accommodation to elderly residents living within the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Established in 1991 by a voluntary Board of Management, and not aligned to any other organisation, we continue to grow and expand as the need for aged care continues within the area. We pride ourselves on genuine quality care for all clients and residents.
At Donwood we have a team of professionals, nursing and ancilliary staff, who take an active interest in the running of the facility as well as ensuring individualised care needs for all residents are met.
AccommodationDonwood has a total of 105 beds, comprising of single rooms with their own ensuites . All single rooms are spacious, light filled, with an outlook to gardens or decked areas. As part of our 105 beds we have a 30 bed memory support unit where residents have access to large open areas and gardens. We have many lounge areas around the facility for residents and families comfort. Our new administration area houses a café and large function room for residents and visitors enjoyment.Community CentreThe Donwood Community Centre is designed for individuals who live at home by themselves or with a carer(s), but would like to participate in outside activities. It offers individuals an opportunity for social interaction involving activities that promote mental and physical stimulation as well as access to an outpatient physiotherapy clinic.RespiteRespite accommodation is offered to individuals living at home with their carer(s) or by themselves and feeling they need a ‘break’. We offer respite in all parts of our facility, with three dedicated private rooms dedicated to respite.

Independent Living UnitsLocated in Diana Street we have six independent living units. Resident who own these units can access services within the facility at a reduced cost. Units are purchased according to the Retirement Villages Act.

Dunmunkle Lodge is an ageing in place Residential Aged Care facility located in the quiet Wimmera township of Minyip. The Lodge boasts 38 rooms comprising 18 rooms with shared ensuites, 18 with private ensuite and one double bedroom. A funded respite bed also adds to the appeal of Dunmunkle Lodge and services the need to care for the carer in the community.
