The Village bus is available for weekly shopping trips and regular social outings.
The available social activities within the Village provide something for everyone. There is a communal vegetable garden that many residents share and enjoy. Residents tend and nurture the gardens throughout the year. A soup day is held once in a while to raise money for the garden. It is a community garden in the true sense of the word.
For those non-gardener individuals, there is a group of residents that gather each week to knit garments to donate to people in need. One of our residents said,
“We meet every Monday morning and it’s a real social event. We don’t need to knit anything for ourselves, so we partnered with St Vincent de Paul Society and Ngala Early Parenting and Earl Childhood. That way we can help refugees, foster children and others who may need to keep warm”.
And it’s not just gardening and knitting that gathers residents together. For the past five years a group of artists have been gathering weekly to attend an art workshop held by a village resident who said “It’s a great time to paint, socialise and enjoy a cup of coffee together.”
Our resident’s comments on life in Donovan Village make it the perfect place to enjoy retirement living.
