Who can come to these groups?
Planned Activity Groups at MiCare cater for Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) people who are:

• Elderly
• Frail
• Isolated and unable to participate in social activities outside the home
• Carers and their families, by providing respite, information and support
• All participants will be assessed by our Coordinator before attending a group.

Activities can include:

• Gentle exercises
• Music and story telling
• Hand and nail care
• Board games
• Crafts, Men’s shed
• Outings and excursions
• Celebrations of culturally significant events.

Nutritious means and morning/afternoon tea are also included. As well as guest speakers and information sessions on topics that are relevant to Seniors. 

Referrals accepted from
Self-referrals or from family and friends, Doctor/other health/community service professionals, My Aged Care

Transport
Transport assistance is available to attend the program.

Cost
A small fee includes taxi/minibus service, activities, morning/afternoon tea and lunch; (fees determined by CHSP fee policies).

Other Important Things to Know:

• Programs are delivered by our multilingual team. Interpreters can be provided according to need
• Participants play an integral part in planning our programs. We value your thoughts and contributions
• We can help you access other services too  
• The groups are small so participants can get to know each other
• You will have a fun and enjoyable day!
