Overview

Help in the Home offers you an affordable solution to staying the comfort of your home, providing you with the independent living you expect.

Help in the Home has built up its reputation as a provider of choice since 2005 for in-home care. Help in the home differentiates its services by offering a highly personalised service to our clients,  fostering strong relationships with our service providers, clients and their families and linking with the community at large.

Our Mission Statement is  “We will be there to help our clients when they need it most and will be flexible when they cannot be.”

Who we are:
Help in the Home formed in 2005 by Cheryl Cohan. Cheryl has worked in the health care industry for 30 plus years and is enthusiastic about the provision of care services.

Cheryl is vision impaired and conducts her business in a way that ensures a level of care that she would be satisfied with for herself.

A client-centred approach is extremely important at Help in the Home. We seek out both formal and informal feedback in order to maintain continuous improvement in the quality of our services. 

Help in the Home can provide the following services:

  • Personal care
  • Respite care
  • Cleaning
  • Overnight care and 24-hour care
  • Shopping
  • Meal preparation
  • Future services to be considered: lawn mowing, home maintenance and nursing services, including wound management and medication administration.

Our Carers
We carefully screen all carers prior to their employment. We require our Carers hold a Certificate III in Aged Care (at a minimum). Police Checks, First Aid Certificates and CPR training qualifications are maintained and renewed as required and updated at least every three years. Our carers are client focused and are expected to provide choice and empowerment to our individual client's needs at all times.

Policy and Procedures
Compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and the Privacy Act is of paramount significance at Help in the Home.  

We are approved to provide Aged Care Packages through My Aged Care. We have commenced this program and it will be a major focus in the next 18 months.

Help in the Home signs Service Level Agreements with Aged Care Providers to ensure all requirements and obligations relating to care are met. 

Help in the Home has SAI Global Certification.
