Fernlea Day Respite provides long day respite Tuesday to Friday in Emerald and on a Friday every week in Berwick for people with life-limiting illnesses.
Fernlea’s unique model of care focusses on the person and doesn’t let their illness define them. Our small and intimate day respite service allows us to provide one on one support, tailored activities, along with reiki and massage for our guests in a home-like environment.
We provide chef cooked meals prepared in-house using fresh ingredients and organic produce grown in our community garden at the Fernlea Shop of Ops.
Fernlea In-Home Care provides services 7 days a week for those who need it. We extend the same personalised model of care tailored to clients & carers needs - from as little as one hour to all day, overnight, weekends or 24hour care.
We assist with clinical assessment and review, medications management and wound care, personal care including meal preparation and feeding, showering and grooming, light housework, gardening, shopping and companionship. We are accredited by the Australian Aged Care Quality Agency means you can have confidence in the quality of our PCA services. All personal care assistants have access to nurse attendance as required on call 24/7 for complex needs.
We provide care holistic care plans for both client and care, offer flexible times and service, have no lock-in contracts, ability to work with other services in place such as occupational therapy or physiotherapy. We also provide a visiting social service for those in residential care allowing family members to take some time-off from their supporting role.
Our day respite guests and in-home care clients and their carers benefit from using any single service or a combination of our services to meet their needs as they change. This makes for a flexible, comforting and seamless transition for all concerned. Importantly, our guests and carers are aware they’ll receive the same care and support from the people they already know and trust.
People can access our services through My Aged Care & NDIS funding or self-fund.
