Overview

Established in 1982, Wyndarra Centre Inc is a community managed provider of community services in the Circular Head Municipality funded by Commonwealth and State Government grants and community donations.

Our purpose is to promote and provide services for the well being of the Circular Head Community. We place particular emphasis on persons and groups at risk of, or experiencing disadvantage or devaluation.

Services the Wyndarra Centre Offer...
OnCall Service
The OnCall service is the primary first contact point to all Wyndarra's services. Hours of operation:

Monday          1:00pm-4:00pm
Tuesday          10:30am-12:30pm / 1:30pm-3:30pm
Wednesday    10:30am-12:30pm / 1:30pm-3:30pm
Thursday        10:30am-12:30pm / 1:30pm-3:30pm
Friday             10:30am-12:30pm / 1:30pm-3:30pm

The OnCall service assists in a wide range of services, these include:

  • General support
  • Filling out forms
  • Information
  • Advice
  • Crisis response
  • Financial support
  • Internal referral to one of our services
  • Advocacy.

Support, access or referrals to other services, including:

  • Centerlink
  • Housing Department
  • Anglicare Financial Service
  • Centacare Counselling Service
  • Legal Services.

Specialised Homelessness Services
Assist families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness:

  • Wyndarra Housing Outreach
  • Intervention/Transition Support.

Needle Supply Program:

  • Harm reduction recourse
  • Counselling and referrals
  • Provide sterile injecting equipment.

Home and Community Care:

  • Domestic assistance
  • Social support
  • Personal care including massage
  • Social support for youth with disability
  • Respite
  • Client care coordination
  • Case planning
  • Home gardening services
  • Counselling support / information and advocacy
  • Connections program for people with varying abilities
  • Aboriginal community service.

Volunteer Program
Volunteers are an integral part of our service delivery. All volunteers undertake an 18 hour induction program that concentrates on issues of confidentiality and acceptance of values of others. Volunteers assist in areas such as:

  • Social support
  • Driving
  • Caring
  • Gardening and lawn mowing
  • Connections program.

Wyndarra Support Service
Support for people with varying abilities:

  • NDIS Provider
  • Short term tenancy support
  • Community integration program
  • Respite
  • Brokered from other agencies to provide services.

  • Domestic violence
