Our Home and Community Care range of services help people over the age of 65 who are normally independent but from time to time need every day, practical household assistance. As well as helping older people, we can also help their Carers and can arrange respite support for their loved ones.
These services are designed to make things a little easier day to day, in and around your home. We can help you ‘catch up’ on those nagging jobs you can’t get to like gutters and window cleaning, do a spring clean or clear and tidy up the garden.
In addition to help in and around the home, UCWB can broaden your social connections by helping you get out and about a bit more. We can link you to activities and other services in the community and help you get there.
• Participants must live in the metropolitan region of Adelaide.
Services we provide:
You tell us what you need & our highly trained Support Workers will do their best to help. Here are some of the services we provide. There are too many to mention but all are flexible and designed around your particular circumstances:
- Spring cleaning
- Social support
- Garden tidy: lawn mowing, pruning, edging
- Domestic support: cleaning, laundry, ironing, vacuuming.
- Shopping support: grocery or general shopping, paying bills, banking
- Minor home maintenance: ‘odd jobs’ such as fixing dripping taps, fly screens, door handles
- Respite: support for carers and the people they support to take a break
- Dementia support.
For your ongoing needs, a Home Care Package may be more suitable. Packages provide a more comprehensive and tailored service to continue to meet your specific needs.
All referrals must go through My Aged Care, however UCWB can provide a guided referral on behalf of the participant.
UCWB accepts referrals from other organisations, health care providers, advocates and family members. People can also refer themselves. We will then assist by guiding people through the necessary steps and Government requirements to ensure their needs are met.
