Ballroom dancing comes to Mary

Mary Griffen has been a resident at Baptistcare’s Sunshine Park aged care facility in Lesmurdie for a decade.

One of Ms Griffen’s favourite pastimes was, and still is, ballroom dancing.

Having belonged to a dancing club for 13 years, Ms Griffen’s wish was to get dressed up and go ballroom dancing. While this is no longer possible, staff at Sunshine Park celebrated her 10 year anniversary by bringing the ballroom dancing to her.

They invited dancers from Cutlers Dance Studio who entertained Ms Griffen among other residents.

Allen Heath, Mary’s son, was overjoyed to see his mother so cheerful and said how she was still “thriving and happy”.
