Overview

Stirling Community Care – Out and About - Helping eligible local residents stay connected with their community. Approved Provider of Home Care Packages and HACC/CHSP.

Connect 2 Program helps to connect eligible older people in the local community. Participants can socialise in small informal groups of up to eight people supported by staff and volunteers. The groups go out in the bus for short, local outings to cafes, parks, community centres. Transport is provided to and from homes. The groups meet at various times through the week usually between the hours of 8.30am - 12.30 pm.

Adult Day Clubs are located in Nollamara, Stirling and Scarborough. Programs at each centre focus on wellness, life skills, educational activities, social and culturally specific activities and opportunities to support participants in maintaining their independence. Our programs also encourage interaction through socialisation, physical and mental stimulation. Programs are developed with input from participants and we have developed a number of specialised groups, such as Nollamara Men's Group that focuses on male interests and activities.

Mobile Day Clubs provide social bus outings, visiting cafes & restaurants for lunch, ten pin bowling, parks for BBQs, etc. Transport is provided to and from homes with morning tea provided at Dianella Community Centre.

Group Shopping Buses run on a weekly basis. Transport is provided to and from homes to local shopping centres allowing two hours for shopping, banking or just have a coffee with friends. Volunteers assist with carrying purchases from the bus to your front door.  Stirling Community Transport Service provides transport options for social support and medical transport in addition to the group shopping buses. Stirling Community Men’s Shed is located in Balcatta and allows social interaction for men and the chance to meet other like minded blokes in a friendly atmosphere. There is a large woodworking area, garden area, BBQ and general meeting areas. Please contact the Coordinator on (08) 9205 7625.
