St Basil's Homes (SA) - St Peters

St Basil's Homes (SA) - St Peters

Overview

Formerly a rambling, bluestone building with a marvellous history of its own, St Peters has been rebuilt to welcome your choice of lifestyle, from social and interactive to quiet and introspective. Behind the heritage facade are 30 private single suites and one double suite perfect for a couple or lifelong friends.

Whereas the bedrooms are designed for peace and quiet, the common areas offer a world of activity including a chapel, in-house cinema, magnificent fish tank, communal lounge and dining areas, outdoor decks, and a garden to explore and nurture. Social areas throughout the premises encourage interaction and movement with friends, family and other guests who are welcomed through the lofty atrium entrance beyond the original 1900’s bay window facade.

Over three levels, common areas are designed to accommodate all ambulatory requirements with wide passageways, occasional seating and clear signposting throughout. The site-wide nurse call monitoring system ensures that residents can be located at all times (both indoors and out).

Beyond the quiet bedroom wings on the Ground and First Levels are light-filled dining, library and lounge areas that spill onto decks with views to the street and gardens. These areas are furnished with Australian-designed furniture that accommodates mobility-compromised residents and guests. The walls are either white or dressed with artwork or feature shelving for ornaments, games, books and daily newspapers. A large smart TV is found in each lounge area and wi-fi throughout enables internet access and music to be piped when appropriate during the day.

Zoi Kafe is set behind the leadlight glass of the original bay window and serves barista coffee and housemade treats. A large deck accessed from inside via Zoi Kafe, leads to over 100sqm of well-maintained, landscaped gardens with wide walking paths suitable for wheelchairs and walking. A wisteria-covered pergola, BBQ facilities, raised vegetable beds and a chicken coop adds to the activities and ambience of the gardens along with various outdoor settings offering multiple rest and shaded areas.

My family and I wish to offer our heartfelt thanks to the St Basils St Peters family for the wonderful care and loving support that you provided my Dad Ken Murphy during his time in your care.
St Basils provided a safe, comforting and caring home that Dad enjoyed, and set us at ease in the knowledge that he was being cared for 24 hours a day.
Our special thanks to Angie, Jill and Dr Dottore for their unwavering support and to Darryl, thanks mate for all the times you went above and beyond.

Warmest wishes to all.
