The Betty Sussman Centre is a purpose built activity centre, based at Gillawarna Village in Georges Hall.
The centre was designed to meet the needs of our dementia clients by offering a home-like setting in a safe and secure environment.
We care for our clients in a full day experience – from picking them up in our bus at their home in the morning to dropping them off home later that afternoon. Their day at the centre is spent engaging in activities, designed to keep them mentally and physically active. Our clients benefit through the social interaction and they enjoy a tasty, nutritious lunch.
A holistic approach is taken in caring for our clients. We recognise that to care for them effectively, we also must support their families through the challenges associated with caring for a loved one with dementia.
Our Carers Support Group runs bi-monthly and provides emotional, social and educational support.
As we are a charitable, not-for-profit aged care provider, and subsidies are provided through Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP), we offer these services for a nominal fee.
