Resthaven Support at Home - Metropolitan Adelaide
About
Need some help to remain living at home, leading an independent lifestyle?
Every year, simple everyday tasks like shopping, cooking, cleaning, bathing, dressing, and managing medications gradually becomes more difficult. The right support at home can help maintain independence to continue living comfortably and safely at home.
Resthaven Incorporated has been providing services for older people and their carers since 1935.
Whether it’s a helping hand around the house or garden, support with shopping, or care from a nurse, we’re here with kindness and understanding—every step of the way.
The Resthaven Community Services team provides home support services, helping older people to stay well and live independently. Our services are available both at home and in the community, tailored to support each person’s unique needs. With a qualified, trained team, Resthaven is South Australia’s largest provider of home support services.
On 1 November 2025, the Australian Government introduced Support at Home — the new government funding program replacing Home Care Packages (HCP). At Resthaven, we’re here to help you understand how Support at Home works, and to make sure your care continues smoothly.

What is reablement?
The Government uses the term ‘reablement’ to refer to short term or time limited support that helps a person to adapt to changed circumstances, such as functional loss after an illness or accident, or to regain confidence and capacity to return to their previous level of activity.
Resthaven’s Restorative Care Pathway is a time-limited, goal-oriented service that supports older people to recover after illness or injury, or to address early signs of functional decline. Over a 6-week period, the program helps you improve your ability to manage daily tasks, regain strength, and continue living independently.
The Restorative Care Pathway is funded by the Support at Home program
The focus of the multidisciplinary team approach is healthy, active ageing to assist quality of life and avoid unnecessary hospitalisation, and possible premature entry to residential aged care.
Our team will work closely with you to create a personalised care plan that reflects your goals, lifestyle, and choices.
To access Restorative Care, you’ll need an assessment by an Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT).
