Queen Victoria Care Residential Care

Queen Victoria Care is a community organisation that places individuals at the centre of everything we do. Situated in the beautiful community of Lindisfarne on Hobart’s Eastern Shore with sweeping water views of Hobart’s River Derwent and blooming gardens, we have offered tailored aged care services for older people for over 130 years. In this enviable setting, we provide for all our residents’ needs, including hairdressing, pool and gym, extensive recreational activities, and even an onsite café. Our mission is to be the Centre of Excellence for an ageing-well community, providing respectful, compassionate, individual care that supports the independence of every resident.

Over our long history, we have become deeply embedded in the local Lindisfarne village, making it easy for our residents to connect to their choice of shopping and services or a favourite restaurant or coffee shop. Our regular outings and activities expand those horizons into the wider Hobart community.

Our services include residential aged care, independent living units, additional services and also a Wellness Centre.

At Queen Victoria Care we provide ‘real care’ and are recognised for our innovative use of technology allowing more time for staff to spend caring for residents. Our clinical platform uses technology to deliver benefits across all areas of care including medication management.

Our activities support the needs of residents living with memory loss and dementia. Our Wellness & Lifestyle staff and volunteers work with these residents through an evidence based program that includes eating together, playing board games and listening to music, reminiscing, and simply having a laugh. 

Our allied health pain management initiative includes both individual and group sessions designed to gain improvements in general wellbeing through both physical participation and increased social interaction which is so important to wellness.
