PresCare Yaralla Place
About
Conveniently located right in the centre of Maryborough, and adjacent to Maryborough Hospital, Yaralla Place is a 96-bed residential aged care facility. There are three separate wings, each with 32 individual rooms inclusive of a 16-bed dementia care specific area. In the interests of fostering new friendships and a community, each house has its own dining and lounge rooms as well as a kitchenette for residents to use when they have the need. Smaller lounge areas are also provided where care recipients and their families can meet in private.
All rooms have a view overlooking the garden, and care recipients are able to access covered outdoor BBQ areas where families are always welcome to enjoy time with their loved one in our care.
At Yarralla Place, one thing we are passionate about is creating an environment where the people in our care feel as though they are living in a home away from home. To this end, we actively encourage families to decorate rooms with personal items– things like photos, paintings, a favourite throw rug, music, a pot plant or flowers.
All meals for PresCare Yaralla’s care recipients are cooked on site and served in dining rooms to allow care recipients to remain connected with each other on a regular basis. But if preferred, a care recipient can also choose to take their meals in their own room. Family members are always welcome to share a meal with their loved one, and private nooks are available for these occasions. Talk to our care staff or Receptionist, and they’ll make all of the arrangements for you.
Personal items are sent to the laundry on a daily basis.
Care and services are provided by qualified, highly trained and skilled staff. Registered nurses are trained to provide palliative care as well as general nursing care, and they work closely with general practitioners, geriatricians, medical specialists, nurse practitioners and allied health staff.
Using a model of ‘Transforming Care at the Bedside’, PresCare Yaralla takes a pro-active approach to care, whereby staff conduct regular checks in anticipation of addressing the needs of care recipients before they feel they have to ask for it.
