PresCare has been part of the Maryborough community for 30 years with our commitment to residential aged care beginning with Groundwater Lodge in 1985 and expanding into Community Care covering the Wide Bay region.
The care and services at PresCare Groundwater Lodge are based on the concept of transforming care, a proactive model of care that is resident-centred and adds value to the care process.
Groundwater Lodge provides residential care for 60 high and low level care residents, with 20 beds allocated specifically for dementia care. The facility also has capacity to accommodate a number of respite clients throughout the year.
Rooms are located across four wings, and are all single ensuited, fully air-conditioned rooms. With walkways for ease of access, Groundwater Lodge features central courtyards and wings are surrounded by landscaped gardens. A large BBQ area provides entertainment space for residents and their families, as well as covered space for activities including exercise classes. The Club Room adjacent to the BBQ area is also utilised for events, providing a comfortable indoor space for inclement weather.
Residents and families are encouraged to bring personal items to make their room as home-like as possible. Residents are able to have a small refrigerator and a TV in their room. Personal items can be laundered in the main laundry or by residents in smaller on-site laundries.
Groundwater Lodge has an on-site chaplain and a private chapel for use by residents and their families.
Groundwater Lodge has a strong volunteer program, and was proud to host the pilot of the GenConnect program which connects residents with students from local schools, encouraging cross-generational communications.
