Tandara Lodge Community Care Inc. (Tandara) is an incorporated association under the Tasmanian Associations Act of 1964. It is a non-profit organisation established in 1978. Tandara is the only residential care provider in the Kentish region, a rural area of North West Tasmania. Tandara has been operating since 1978 and provides the following services in the community:
A residential facility located at Sheffield providing:
31 high care places
12 low care places
2 high care respite places
1 low care respite place
Community housing at Sheffield and Railton:
44 independent living units (community housing)
Our clients are mostly from the special needs group, which covers people from rural and remote, socially and financially disadvantaged, people from non English speaking backgrounds and war veterans and their widows. Tandara is accredited under the federal government accreditation program and employs over 65 staff from the local area. The mission of the organisation:"Tandara will provide its health and related services for the community in a manner which gives them confidence in all that is done".
