Stirling Lodge is conveniently located in the thriving town of Keith which is situated half way between Adelaide and Mount Gambier. Stirling Lodge can be found in the Keith and District Hospital building which also houses a 24/7 Emergency Department, an Acute Ward and a GP Clinic. This proximity to other services ensures a high level of healthcare as well as ease of access to the great range of visiting specialists which include: audiologists, podiatrists, cardiologists, dentists and mental health professionals.
Stirling Lodge is a small residential home with 18 residential care beds. There is a mix of single and shared room accommodation. Each room has its own en suite. These beds can be used for permanent residential care or temporary respite care. There are three lounge areas and a large dining area which opens out onto a beautiful central courtyard to ensure residents are never far from nature. There is also a hair salon on site complete with a visiting hairdresser and beauty therapist to ensure the residents well-being needs are catered for. Meals are freshly prepared on site with a delicious menu to choose from for every meal.
Regular bus trips and outings are organised to visit town for coffee and cake, to local farms and other locations around the district. There is a great program of activities on offer which includes regular visits from the community such as the local line dancing group or the children from the local Kindergarten for a sing-a-long.
Friends and relatives are always welcomed and encouraged to use the hospitals access car to ensure that their loved ones don’t miss out on personal trips and occasions if there is issues with mobility.
The kind, caring and supportive staff and volunteers make Stirling Lodge extra special. All the personal touches of a home away from home are on offer in a caring and friendly environment.
Harold’s statement sums this up perfectly -
“I couldn’t be happier with the care and kindness I receive in Stirling Lodge. All of the staff go out of their way to help me.”
