MultiLink Community Services Inc.
About
The Social Support Group services under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) aim to promote social inclusion, independence, and emotional well-being for older Australians through group-based activities and community engagement. These services offer a welcoming environment where seniors can connect with others, participate in meaningful experiences, and stay active and informed. At MultiLink, the Social Support Group team has organised a range of events designed to empower aged care consumers and celebrate their individuality, skills, and culture. Highlights include a Food Festival where clients can showcase their baking talents, Social Media classes to support digital engagement and reduce isolation, and a special session for Aged Care Elder Abuse Awareness Day, featuring guest speakers from Caxton Legal Services to raise awareness and promote safety.
In addition to these, consumers can look forward to a Costume Party celebrating multiculturalism, an Ekka-themed celebration featuring games designed by participants, and a Seniors Day event with services and information provided by organisations like Hearing Australia, ADA, and local hairdressers. These initiatives are part of MultiLink’s ongoing commitment to fostering a sense of purpose, joy, and connection among seniors in our community. If you or someone you know would like to join MultiLink’s Social Support Group (CHSP), please contact your Care Facilitator (details can be found in your in-home blue folder), reach out to Social Support Group Leader - Madeline Alvarez on 0432 264 402.
