Eldercare Trowbridge House was established by the Congregational Homes for the Aged. In 1977, it joined Uniting Church Retirement Homes; now known as Eldercare.
The two-storey facility enjoys a welcoming and homely atmosphere with staff continuously working to deliver peace of mind to residents and their families.

Trowbridge House is located in the north-eastern suburb of Payneham close to Portrush Road and Glynburn Plaza.
Trowbridge House features 64 single rooms with the majority featuring private ensuite bathrooms. One of the four wings at Trowbridge House is a secure Memory Support Unit and is specially designed to support residents living with dementia. Eldercare’s award-winning Dementia Excellence Program is practiced throughout the facility and fosters genuine person-centred care.
The manicured garden at the main entrance features arches and benches and forms part of Trowbridge House’s extensive gardens. Sheltered entertaining areas and barbeque facilities also provide opportunities for residents to spend quality time with family and friends.
A dedicated chef prepares all food on-site daily and health professionals, including doctors, physiotherapist and podiatrist, visit regularly. A physiotherapist also supervises the on-site gym.
Trowbridge House’s hairdresser is available one day per week in the on-site hairdressing salon and a beauty therapist visits monthly with services available at additional cost.
The Lifestyle team at Trowbridge House has created an activity program, which is continuously refined, to ensure residents’ interests and preferences are satisfied.
A wide variety of group and individual Lifestyle activities are held which include regular bus outings, concerts and BBQ lunches. Special events include the annual visit to the Royal Adelaide Show and Christmas events.
Family and friends are encouraged to play an active role in the social life of the facility and relatives’ meetings and newsletters are used to foster two-way communication between staff, residents and their loved ones.
Trowbridge House also has a dedicated Chaplain who is available three days per week to provide emotional and spiritual support to residents and their families.
