South Park was established in 1993 as the Minlaton Hostel for the Aged.
Eldercare commenced joint management of South Park in September 2015, with the support of the Minlaton Hostel for the Aged Board, and fully acquired the facility in January 2016.
South Park is one of three residential aged care facility owned and operated by Eldercare on the Yorke Peninsula along with The Village in Maitland and Elanora in Stansbury.
South Park is located in the south parklands of Minlaton. The facility enjoys strong links with the Minlaton community and is located within close proximity to a range of health services including the medical centre. Local shops are also nearby.
South Park consists of 18 single rooms. Each room has its own individually controlled air conditioning, ensuite bathroom and built-in robe.
Shared facilities include a lounge for conversation and entertaining visitors, a sun room and an activities area to watch television or listen to music.
South Park has undergone two upgrades since opening in 1993. The most recent improvements took place in 2008 and included a kitchen renovation, new laundry and on-site hair salon.
The gardens at South Park have been designed for resident pleasure. Features include an enclosed garden area, raised garden beds for resident use and a pergola. We also offer an interactive gardening program led by a visiting Horticultural Therapist who runs group and one-on-one resident activities.
All meals are cooked on-site daily by a Chef and a full laundry service is provided.

We offer a wide range of daily morning and afternoon leisure activities to meet the individual needs and interests of residents which are organised by our site based Lifestyle Coordinator.
A GP makes weekly visits to South Park and a pharmacy delivery service is also available as required. Additionally, a comprehensive allied health service is provided by visiting Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, Audiologists, Speech and Massage Therapists.
Delivery of newspapers and magazines can be arranged upon request and an in-house Hairdresser is available every Friday.
Church services are held weekly on-site. Our Chaplain for the region also provides emotional and spiritual support for residents and their families.
South Park has a dedicated team of volunteers who offer friendship and support to residents. Minlaton Library staff also visit the site regularly providing a range of materials for residents’ enjoyment.
