Even during awful crises, there are occasional bright graces. Connecting with Dovida Northern Beaches during Mum and Dad’s health decline was one such. With my sister busy with a young family and me living two hours away, we’ve leant heavily on their compassion, patience and outstanding capability. Given the brief of preparing dinner for Mum with complex dietary restrictions, our wonderful carer cooked from scratch, brightening her final year. Another helped Mum quilt, going above and beyond to give her purpose despite painful health struggles. Bespoke outings kept Dad engaged. The reminder that deep human kindness counterbalances deep grief brought immense comfort during an awful period. Nowhere else have I encountered such unconditional support and flexibility. The office tracks every detail, and the carers are unfailingly reliable. It’s like the angels have got your back. We are eternally grateful.
