Social Support Groups/Day Care Centres

CO.AS.IT has Social Support Groups available to the Italian community. These are in:

• Rosanna
• Essendon (deleted Coburg as no longer operational)

Our Social Support Groups provide eligible older Italians with an opportunity to socialise with their peers in a supportive, culturally appropriate, centre based environment. We cater to the cultural needs of our clients by providing nutritious meals, engaging activities and can assist with transportation. Clients will require a referral code from MyAgedCare to attend and an assessment will also take place prior to client attending.

Italian Senior Citizens’ Clubs

CO.AS.IT is an umbrella organisation for the Italian Senior Citizens Clubs in Victoria. There are numerous groups for active seniors that operate independently throughout metropolitan & regional Victoria. The groups meet in community venues and generally meet two to three times a week. 4.CO.AS.IT. Visitation Program

Visitation Program

CO.AS.IT’s Visitation Program provides friendly one to one visits by volunteers in their private home weekly. Deleted reference to Aged Care Facilities.

Clients are referred to the program by professionals working in the aged care sector, doctors, social workers, clergy, and family members or by the individual themselves.
