Overview

Carrington has been continuously caring for people since 1889. We are a charitable not-for-profit organisation situated approximately four kilometres southwest of the historic town of Camden in NSW.

Carrington Community Care can support you in your home with domestic tasks, to assist you in enjoying other activities in your life.

Home Care Packages

Home care packages is a program funded by the Australian Government to support seniors to stay at home and active within the community as long as possible. Carrington’s Home Care Package offer optional coordinated package of care and service tailored to support you to best meet your needs and goals.

Domestic Assistance – Cleaning Service – In the home

Carrington Community Care can support you in your home with domestic tasks, to assist you in enjoying other activities in your life.

The types of services that you can expect from domestic Assistance are:

• Vacuuming

• Mopping Floors

• Cleaning of your bathroom

• Changing the bed linen

• Laundry (including hanging out/bringing in washing, and folding and light ironing of your laundry)

• Basic Shopping (Unaccompanied)

• Running Errands (Unaccompanied)

Personal Care – In the home

We provide assistance or supervision with daily self-care tasks in the home.

The types of Personal Care services we offer include:

• Assistance with showering, dressing, and grooming

• Medication Monitoring

• Meal Preparation

• Oral Hygiene

• Application of prosthetics

• Simple Dressings

Respite Services – In the home or out in the Community

Respites primary purpose is to give the carer a short-term break from the usual caring role or to add assistance with performance of the caring role. Respite is a benefit to the Consumer and the Carer.

Flexible Respite – In the home or out in the Community at an appropriate setting.

Flexible Respite provide the carer with quality alternative care for the person for whom he/she is the primary carer while living in their own home.

Examples of Respite Activities:

• Playing cards at home

• Attending Bingo

• Attending Bunning Workshops

• Participating in activities of interest to the Consumer

• Assistance with Gardening

• Gentle Exercise

Overnight Respite Cottage – River Cottage – Onsite at Carrington

Up to 5 nights in our self-contained on site cottage with 24 hour carer on the lovely grounds of Carrington in a home like environment, all meals are included.

Wellness Club – Health and Wellbeing – Onsite at Carrington

Carrington Community Care’s Wellness Club enables you to make new friends and enjoy regular activities to aid health and wellness, including:

• Gym Programs

• Falls Prevention

• Bus Outings

• Games

• Entertainment

• Meditation and Yoga

Private Service – In your own home

Carrington Community Care offers private fee for services to people with no government funding on a fee for service basis. Carrington’s Private Service facility allows our in home care team to provide services straight away and not have a waiting time whilst a vacancy becomes available for one of our government funded services.
