St John’s Residential Aged Care for Men
St John’s is located in the leafy suburb of Toowong, in the inner west of Brisbane. Reserved for men only, St John’s provides special accommodation and recreational amenities for those with dementia. Homeless men and those with complex behaviours and health issues are also catered for. Conveniently situated on the public transport route, St John’s is home to 64 residents.
Our qualified and caring staff assist in fostering a loving community and friendships through activities and a variety of social hubs. Residents can relax in the games room or common lounge area. Other social hubs include the dining areas, cinema room and outdoor barbeque area.
At St John’s we go to great lengths to make you feel at home and know your life experience is valued and respected.
Your community
The home is spread over two levels connected by lifts. There are spacious kitchens, dedicated living and dining areas with a centrally-located canteen and local shopping service. The large central communal area is ideal for indoor games and activities.
A number of health professionals regularly visit St John’s, including a physiotherapist, podiatrist, dentist, audiologist, speech therapist and dietician. There’s an onsite hairdresser available by appointment.
Maintaining the leisure and lifestyle interests of residents is all part of the program. We take a collaborative approach, inviting feedback and discussions on what types of activities you might like included.
The community benefits from having an onsite laundry and full commercial kitchen, providing freshly prepared meals served in the home’s dining rooms, catering for special dietary needs and meals to mark special occasions or cultural events.
