Your chance to ‘turn on’ older Aussies

Evergreen, specialising in advertising and marketing to seniors, boomers, and over 50s consumers, is celebrating a decade in business this month.

To highlight the importance of this milestone, one company will have the chance to ‘turn on’ older Australians by winning a campaign valued at over $10,000.

The prize is an opportunity for companies who recognise the potential of the over 50s market, but are not sure of the best way to harness its value.

Marketers need to understand what motivates older Australians and how to interact with them.

In 2003, Evergreen was described as the first specialist advertising agency to “fall in love” with baby boomers and seniors.

Nearly 80% of Australia’s wealth is controlled by people over 45 years, and many marketers don’t know where to start, according to Gill Walker, Evergreen managing director.

The competition prize is a combination of strategy, creative and studio time from the agency. It also includes printing of 10,000 mailers to a filtered database of 10,000 names and addresses.

The value of the campaign exceeds $10,000 and the agency will work with the winning organisation to customise and create the best solution.

“The key to success in 50 plus marketing is knowing how to communicate with a diverse range of mature audiences. This requires a deeper understanding of strategy, creative, media channels and how best to implement programs that resonate,” Ms Walker says.
