Working together – aged and community care workforce

Workforce growth and development is an area of concern for aged and community care services

In 2006 Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA) held a national workforce forum ‘Who Will Care?’ to discuss the future of the industry workforce with providers.

As a result, ACSA established a working group to guide our work in this area and drafted a background paper to assist them with their role.

That background paper is now publicly available to share information and to stimulate thinking about this pressing issue.

Workforce development cannot be seen in isolation from the broader issues confronting the industry and ACSA has also drafted an industry ‘Framework for Action ‘ that captures many of ACSA’s current projects and suggests some new ones.

The background and the framework are available on the ACSA website.

Comments are invited on the framework by the end of October.
