Work begins on new Bendigo superclinic
The Bendigo Advertiser reports that construction work on a new Victorian GP super clinic has begun, and will pave the way for innovation in Bendigo’s healthcare system.
The new clinic will employ eight more GPs, offering medical, nursing and mental health services as well as a rapid access clinic where patients can book same-day appointments.
It will offer a chronic disease management team, including a diabetes nurse educator, practice nurse, podiatrist, dietitian, health psychologist, social worker and mental health professionals.
Training and education facilities for medical, nursing and allied health professionals will also be included.
The $8.4 million centre, known as Bendigo Primary Health Centre, was approved for funding in 2007 under a joint funded project by both the Federal and state governments.
