Valentine’s Day may have come and gone, but after six or seven decades of loving relationships, these residents will make sure the next one is just as special for their partner.

Five resident couples at Belvedere Aged Care took Valentine’s Day as an opportunity to renew their vows in a ceremony held at the facility on Friday, February 14, 2025.
Recognising the six and seven decades of marriage of each couple, celebrant and Pastor Jeremy Fernando led a tribute to love celebrated amongst family and friends, honouring togetherness in every stage of life.
Karin Blavo, the lifestyle manager at Belvedere Aged Care, said the facility is proud to provide a welcoming environment where couples can continue their journey together.
“[The ceremony] demonstrates that, as an aged care team, our work is to ensure that our couples and their companionships are acknowledged as part of the holistic care we provide,” Karin explained.

Belvedere has seen a significant increase in couples choosing to call its boutique residence ‘home.’
“We believe this is due to our tailored care offering that respects each individual’s needs while nurturing our shared values of family as a family-owned aged care home,” Belvedere’s Director Rachel Noel said.
“We encourage family celebrations, birthdays and wedding anniversaries and it’s an honour to be part of the celebrations.”
On Valentine’s Day, families and friends were invited to share in this joyous occasion, witnessing the renewal of vows and celebrating memories and the beautiful journey of each couple.
“At Belvedere, we go beyond clinical care — we create moments that honour love, family, and the unique stories of our residents. I’m really proud that our approach resonates with our staff, residents and their families,” she added.
Belvedere offers a range of boutique accommodation and lifestyle activities designed to keep couples engaged with the things they love and enjoy.
With personalised care plans and an experienced clinical and care team, each experience is unique and allows our couples to continue enjoying life side by side.
